My last high school ball

Image
'On the 13th of June I attended my last school ball along with about 500 other Orewa college year 12 and 13 students.  This year it was held at Eden park in Auckland. It was a day of excitement and anxiety.  As it was my last school ball and it being a momentous moment I thought I would inform you on my preparation for the ball and my whole high school ball experience.  My best friend who did a beauty therapy and a makeup course did my make up and nails for me while my mum who is a hairdresser did my hair.  I got my dress from Bridal and Ball in Albany and it was amazing.  I used the Dove summer glow self tanning moisturiser for normal to dark skin every second night after my shower before bed for the two weeks leading up to the ball so I didn't look like a ghost and it worked really well and gave me a nice subtle tan.  This was great as I am very pale so did not want a fake tan as I most likely would have gone orange. The inevitability of our impending future :)

When I was seven a princess. Ten a teacher.  And now that I am almost seventeen and at a crucial stage in my life where I make the stressful life determining decision I have nothing.  No clue as to what I want to be.   Over the past week I was asked to fill out my subjects for school next year which here in New Zealand starts in late January early February,  I sat in front of my computer screen to fill out my subject choices with a blank...

My mid winter escape In early June my mother, father, younger sister and I escaped the winter chills that we were amidst in little cold New Zealand and took a holiday to the beautiful tropical island of Rarotonga.  We arrived at Auckland airport after a long four hour drive with many excited members of the road trip.  We had visited my Oma and Opa (my Dutch grandparents) at their place in the Bay of Plenty to visit my dearest Oma's to celebrate her 85th birthday and visit her in hospital as she was very sick.  After spending the weekend with the oldies we drove back to Auckland in time to catch our 7:00PM flight to Rarotonga.  As we were lining up to check in our luggage I spotted the very talented and famous Jamie Mcdell.  We ran over to take ask politely if we could have a quick picture. She was very willing to take a picture and asked us where we were travelling and told us about where she was going.  She was the kindest person and came across as ...
